Another Xperia X1 firmware update

Since the last firmware update a couple of weeks ago, a newer and better Xperia firmware has been released. The newest firmware boosts the reception signal, which could be useful for those with Korean X1s. The touchscreen responsiveness is also improved in this firmware, making the Xperia easier to use. The keyboard back light power has also been increased, with the media panel also being given a boost in performance.
You can download the ROM from XDA-Developers, or alternatively by using the Sony Ericsson Update Service software. If you haven’t already got it installed, you can grab it from here, then follow the instructions to load the new firmware onto the phone.

by the way, if i update firmare, do i lose all my files etc? if its “yes”, where can i get any program to do a backup from my xperia?

I run it off the memory card. Backs most things up but still need to reinstall some things – until I figure out how to select them for backup!

Just a tip: When updating your phone from the Update Service, make sure that in your Windows Mobile Device Center –> Connection Settings –> you untick “Allow USB Connection”. If you have this on, you may incounter that the service cannot see your phone.

What is the first thing I have to update? Greatly appreciated if someone could guide or send me a detailed or step by step procedure in order for my Xperia to work as expected.

Im failing to use Update services to update my X1 (or maybe Im just too impatient). I follow all the instructions up to the point were I get the bands of colours on my phone and connect the usb cable. Then What? nothing seems to happen. Not further instructions on the Update screen on my laptop. Please advise
hi.i m using sony ericsson xperia x1 .i m facing one problem that is when i switched the phone and reswitched it,i can’t open mp3 file.even audio driver not working.plz anyone solve this problem.
