Sorry but i tried the update Service for my X1a what shows the ROM 1.02.948.8, Software ID 1218-9240, R2A-Generic_Nam.

I got the message UP TO DATE, so where ever you have your information from you should tell us this. Germany, Russian, UK, somwere else???

Unless you already somehow have the R2A firmware on your phone, there is indeed an updated firmware (X1a_GENERIC_NAM_CDF1219-1224_R2AA008). The update service from SE isn’t showing the latest update, but it’s there. You need to download it manually from XDA Developers and install it.

Luckily for you, there is a North American update (X1a). Actually, there is an update for all variants except the UK, which most of us are waiting for.

I wouldn’t really be so quick to bash this blog, considering it’s one of the best sources of information on the X1, unlike the useless official blog from SE.

Here in Chile there is no update aviable too…

Any idea when the Generic UK version of the firmware will be released? I’m in India, so I guess this is the update for me too.

When the phone starts with the four colors stripes, a msg appers saying “No Image File”. After, when I connect the usb, the phone remains locked, with the “USB” msg and the Update Service program does not recognize the phone. Is this normal?

I can’t get the color stripes on my Xperia. It keeps on booting normally. I have already tried many times by 1st pressing the volume button and without relaeasing it continue with the pressing of the power button.

Hear what, this is just plain nonsense, I’ve been trying to update this shit (X1i) for 2 months now and the F…ing thing does absolutely nothing. Does not move from the tutorial screen at all. The computer recognizes the phone but he update software does nothing to update the phone……

Yes i totally agree with Ryan. Its a shit phone. i have been using it for 1.5 years and from then on i was trying atleast once in every month to update the software or firmware or bull shit. Till today it didnt do anything.

ditto… had this phone since it came out on VF, stuck on a contract, cant update software, cant get any decent apps… its now slow as anything, … i’ll miss the keyboard but i think its time to move to the iphone.

As directed I am updating with Hard SPL etc. My phone and PC shows progress bar with 0%. But upto half an hours it doesn’t move forward. Then I restart the phone and tried it again but the same problem occur. please guide me to update my phone. Thank you

I can’t get the phone in “update mode”. I press and hold volume and power buttons, but the colored striped do not show. Is there some special trick? Is it volume up or volume down…or both?
