Future Sony Ericsson phones to follow X1 lead
Posted in: Sony Ericsson, Xperia X1, tags: m2, memory stick micro, microsd, Xperia X1
The use of the Memory Stick Micro card, or M2, will be abolished in future handsets from the company. Instead the phones will use microSD cards, which are more popular with consumers for many reasons. MicroSD cards are generally cheaper than the M2 cards and are compatible with many more devices, making the memory cards interchangeable. The Xperia X1 ditched the M2 format and opted for the microSD, which has proved to be a popular choice, but is this another format failure for Sony?
