One click X10 root process released

While the process for rooting the X10 has become easier over time, with even less steps required now, the recently released root process for the X10 Mini and X10 Mini pro proved to be rather complicated for some users. Thankfully, the process has once again been made much easier. Not only does this work on the X10 Mini and Mini Pro but, it also works on the full size X10 as well. All you need to do, is download UniversalAndroot.apk and install it. Once installed, all you need to do then, is click one button to root the handset. Likewise, the unrooting process is just as easy. There is also a one click button to unroot the handset if you so wish.
Some users unfortunately, have reported that this method hasn’t worked but, there is another method. One member of the XDA-Developer forums has released X10Root, which is an alternative apk and should work just as easily.

how do you use the file? i have no idea
how do you install the file i wanna unroot my 02 xperia x10 so i can get the updates
its ok ive figured out how to use the stuff but does this file debrand my x10i so i can update the firmware, just worried as some say that rooting your phone especially 02 can really screw the phone up
Hey Eric, no rooting the phone doesn’t debrand it sorry. I havent heard of anyone saying rooting screwed up their phone but, according to O2, the update(s) dont work properly for the O2 network so I’m assuming it’d be those problems, although I have to admit and say I don’t know what they actually are. I was reading a debranding tutorial earlier, I’ll post it up when I get back home later :).
Doesn’t work on my xperia on o2
Hey guys. you download the apk file. you put your mobile in usb debugging mode. you transfer the downloaded apk file onto your memory card. remember where u have transferred it. you go back to your phone. use astro file manager or any other one to find the file. you install the file. once installed. you go to the menu and fine the application. open the app and click on root. it takes 30 seconds to root and unroot and it will work. some of the benefits of rooting are wifi tethering and u can remove moxier etc. this will not void your warranty and u can still update ur phone using SEUS. any problems. please feel free to email me @ usman22489@googlemail.com. :)
i tried downloading the apk n my phoe says for security ur phone is set to block installation of apps not sourced in android market. any help appreciated
@scooby:
You must enabled : Applications-unknown sources-(on)
Because every downloaded APK non market must turn this on for installing….but be caution from where u download apk files from….just i case
@pakcik666 there is no option for this under applications on AT&T devices – they do not allow for installing of non-market apps on AT&T Droids as of yet.
I’m trying to figure out how to root the phone for a friend, just so I can enable non-market apps.. so installing either of these root apps won’t help at all, that I can tell.
Any suggestions?
Is it the Mini/Mini pro you want to root, or the full size X10?
I dont know about him, but I’m trying with the full size X10.
OK,
McAfee just warned me this is an exploit virus? how come?

This is a really good website. I’ve been back several times within the last seven days and want to register for your feed by using Google but find it difficult to ascertain how to do it exactly. Would you know of any guides?
it works like a charm, i just finished rooting my x10i, installed busybox and titanium and everything is fine.
cant install the old message install BLOCKED pops up great!
now what i can never get an update to 2.1 or 2.2 just because i bought my phone from ATT…..INSTALL BLOCKED.
Does this work on 2.1 as well?
Followed this and it SEEMS to have worked but for the life of me I can’t find any way to pull off all the junk apps that come installed on the phone. That is the PRIME reason I wanted to root to begin with. What else is needed to be done so I can get all this bloatware (ie facebook, youtube etc) off for good? Only used this method to make the whole rooting easier and quicker than most of the other methods I’ve seen but it looks like it still doesn’t do what I want. Any thoughts?
Hey, it doesnt work for me, keep saying “exploid fail” when installing “toolkit”, any suggestions? Thanks ;-)
I should come to an agreement with the previous commenter, the truth of the matter in which information and assistance such as you provide is now widely avaliable does suggest we all find ourselves that much more influenced in comparison with a couple of years previously.
not workd in last update version 21/12/2010 :(

Just a fast hello and also to thank you for discussing your ideas on this web page. I wound up in your blog right after researching physical fitness connected issues on Yahoo… guess I lost track of what I had been performing! Anyway I’ll be back as soon as again within the long term to check out your blogposts down the road. Thanks!
I ran across this info earlier today while at the office. Very educational. Sent the website link to myself and will likely bookmark it once I make it home.
