Root access achieved on Xperia X10

A user from the XDA-Developers forum has “rooted” the Xperia X10. This means he has gained root access which allows you to load custom ROMs onto the X10, along with relocating apps from the phone to the memory card and the ability to run special apps, specifically designed for rooted handsets. It’s also possible to make a complete back up of the phone. More importantly, it would also make it possible to update the Android firmware before Sony Ericsson release the much awaited 2.1 Android update.
While that’s the good news, the bad news is that the process is only possible to perform if you have the SETool USB dongle and software. A method that doesn’t require flashing is already being worked on though.
Update:
Unfortunately the root turned out to be fake.
