An application for Windows Mobile phones has been confirmed as working for the Xperia X1. With the confirmation comes a video of the Xperia X1 running the app, MobileRemote and connecting through bluetooth to the Sony PS3. The app allows you to connect your Xperia X1 to any bluetooth enabled device such as the PS3, PC, Mac, or another bluetooth enabled phone.

MobileRemote allows users to control around 85% of the PS3 functions such as text chat and messaging as well as internet browsing and even listening to music, including streamed music from a laptop. You can view the video below of the PS3 and Xperia connected.

On the download page, there’s also a demo video of an Xperia controlling a PC which you can view below. The app costs $8.99.

We recently reported on a ‘fix’ for your Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 if you were experiencing problems with the bluetooth feature of the phone. That fixed involved the use of a MortScript to get the bluetooth functioning but now, there’s a new ‘fix’ available and it’s easier to use too.

PocketNow have found this new ‘fix’ and this newer method only requires the installation of a cab file. JKingDev over at XDA Developers has developed the application – “BT Keep Alive” which you can download here.

News for the motoring and gadget fans out there – the new 9-X Air, a concept car from Saab will be connected via bluetooth to the new Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 mobile phone which will allow for some nifty super spy action when taking control of the car.


The X-9 Air was shown at the latest Paris Motor Show and the Xperia X1 can control many aspects of the car including switching the headlights and interior lights on and off, controlling the audio system, opening the boot, reclining the seats and you can even lock and unlock the car doors using the Xperia X1.
