With the Sony Ericsson Xperia Active passing though the FCC in the States, it shouldn’t be too long until the handset gets a release date there.

The next handset to be released in the Xperia range has hit the FCC, which hopefully means we should see a US release soon. On the FCC website, users can view photos of the upcoming Sony Ericsson handset of both the outside and inside. As well as the photos of the Xperia X8, you will also find the user manual for the X8 posted which can be downloaded for viewing.

There’s no new surprises with the handset itself however. The specs remain the same as what we had previously heard. The Sony Ericsson X8 features a 3 inch display, making it in essence a middle sized X10. However the camera is downgraded from both the X10 and X10 Mini and will feature a 3.2 megapixel camera but, this is Sony Ericsson so the camera should still be pretty decent. Unfortunately, it seems that the handset will also ship with Android 1.6 instead of 2.1 which Sony Ericsson have promised will be available for the X10 in late Q3.

Great news for folks in the US, the Xperia X10 Mini has officially been accepted for release in North America. The handset was submitted to the FCC and has now been approved for release. On the FCC website you can find the user manual, which is great if you want to get to grips with the phone before you pick it up, so when it is released, you’re ready to go! Details of the X10 Mini are also included within the documents, which as we know include a 5 megapixel camera, a 2.5 inch display and the Android Operating System. You can view the detailed documents and the user manual for the X10 Mini here.

The networks which use these bands are AT&T, Bell, Telus and Rogers. The FCC doesn’t specify which network the handset will be branded with, so we can only speculate, but many of us are guessing it will be AT&T the handset will be tied to.

The reports show that the handset will run on Edge 850 / 1900, which is what T-Mobile’s band is.

The user manual is a full 40 pages, so if you plan on getting this phone on release, you can read up about how to use it, before you get it.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness entered the FCC for approval and got it. One dissapointment while looking at what’s in the filing, is that 3G is nowhere to be found in the testing. Looking through all the documents on the FCC though, only the User Manual mentions 3G in the context of saving battery life. It does however confirm that the Xperia Pureness is indeed the X5 and not the X4, which we’re still missing from the Xperia lineup.

Engadget note though, that with the transparent screen it’s unlikely many will be using it for web browsing or media streaming and so 3G probably won’t be missed much in this handset. So hopefully, with the approval by the FCC it means it’ll be available from the Sony Style store soon, possible on par with the UK November release.

Today, the FCC have posted up documents on the Xperia X1 which they’ve recently tested out. The documents include the release date for the US as well as the test report and SAR readings.

The User Manual can also be downloaded via the FCCs site in two parts, although the User Manual could previously be downloaded direct from Sony Ericsson’s website. Internal and external photos of the Xperia X1 have also been released. The X1 may have been taken apart already by an X1 owner, but these photos give you a more in-depth and intriguing look into the X1.

All the documents are available to download from here in PDF which will require a PDF reader.
