We recently reported that the latest firmware had been released for the Xperia X1, which was available for download via the Update Service software. We can now confirm the update is also available for Philippine X1 owners. Light Chronicles reports that the update in his country, as well as a step by step guide on how to update. It’s noted that the update is 162MB, so can take a while to download depending on your internet connection.

MrLeeche confirms that the update has made the Xperia bootup faster as well as the fish panel responding faster and the fish being visually bigger. Likewise, file exploring is also faster on the latest firmware.

Xperia X1
Since the last firmware update a couple of weeks ago, a newer and better Xperia firmware has been released. The newest firmware boosts the reception signal, which could be useful for those with Korean X1s. The touchscreen responsiveness is also improved in this firmware, making the Xperia easier to use. The keyboard back light power has also been increased, with the media panel also being given a boost in performance.

You can download the ROM from XDA-Developers, or alternatively by using the Sony Ericsson Update Service software. If you haven’t already got it installed, you can grab it from here, then follow the instructions to load the new firmware onto the phone.

xperia-x1

Another ROM update has been released for Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1. Unfortunately it doesn’t bring with it any goodies from the leaked R3A ROM. What has been noticed with the new ROM is that the boot time of the X1 is better but there doesn’t seem to be much else. Over at Xperiancer, the leaked custom ROM which includes Xtrakt is favoured over the official ROM from Sony Ericsson. To update your Xperia, download the ROM from here.
