The Xperia X1 is to become an even bigger business orientated phone with the collaboration between OnRelay and Sony Ericsson. The companies are working on bringing the Mobile PBX software to the Xperia X1. Mobile PBX can replace desk phones with mobile phones and become a complete mobile office extension.

Marie Wold, President of OnRelay had the following to say; “OnRelay recognises Sony Ericsson’s continuing lead in mobile innovation, and we are delighted work with Sony Ericsson to support the FMC needs of enterprise customers. The XPERIA X1 excels in offering enterprise users an impressive feature set within compelling form factor and design. The usability of OnRelay’s MBX client is complimented by the strength of the X1’s sheer processing power. Together we provide business users with a world-leading enterprise mobility offering.”

While Head of Enterprise for Sony Ericsson, Western Europe, Alan Giles noted “Sony Ericsson is committed to supporting the best enterprise solutions for X1 to meet the business needs of our users. We are excited by the proposition of OnRelay’s Mobile PBX software. The level of FMC it achieves can for the first time allow multinational customers to replace desk phones with Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 mobile phones.”
