We previously reported that the Xperia X10 would be launching in Australia on Telstra. The phone has now been launched. and is available to purchase outright for $1099 AUD, or free on a 24 month contract. The contract however will set you back $100 AUD each month. Previously the X10 was marketed as being a Telstra exclusive but, we now know that both Vodafone and Optus are also offering the handset. With Optus the handset is free when taking out a 24 month contract, with a $99 a month tariff. While on Vodafone, the recommended package will set you back $79 a month, for 24 months. It appears the handset is free on this tariff but it’s unclear at this moment. If it is indeed free though, this makes Vodafone’s offering the better option.
