Like the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, the X10 Mini may not be every one’s cup of tea but, if you’re looking for a gift for someone who’s new to Android, or after a cheap phone to keep you going then this is a deal not to be sniffed at. Currently online phone retailer Mobiles.co.uk have refurbished Xperia X10 Mini handsets in stock. By refurbished, Mobiles mean that the handset was returned to them within 7 days of purchase and have been fully inspected. As expected, the handset comes with a full 12 month warranty.
Mobiles have the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 available for £49.90 with a £10 top up. You can choose from Vodafone, O2 or Orange but, regardless of the network chosen, phones from Mobiles.co.uk come unlocked as standard. Despite requiring a £10 top up, the total price of £59.90 is still a bargain price for the phone.

As previously reported, the newly released Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray is available to buy in the UK. The handset has now been picked up by at least three of the major UK mobile carriers, namely Orange, O2 and Vodafone who have the Ray listed for sale on their respective websites.
The listing on the O2 website itself shows the Xperia Ray as in stock and it is available to buy on the network if purchasers go through third party sellers such as the Tesco phone shop. It is available from £15.50 a month which offers a free handset over 24 months. The Xperia Ray is also available on the O2 £10.50 a month tariff but, costs £79.99 upfront to purchase that way. The Orange website is now showing the Ray as ‘coming soon’ but, is confirmed as coming to the network for the first time and is expected to be available on a variety of contract options and with a pay as you go deal too. Vodafone have the phone listed as available to buy and the handset is free with their £26 a month, 24 month contract.

In the UK, Orange have gotten some pretty good exclusive deals when it comes to the Xperia range. The first exclusive deal we saw for Orange customers in the UK was when the white Xperia X10 was released. Orange were the only UK network to sell the X10 in white. We’ve also seen Orange be the only retailer in the UK to sell the X10 Mini in green. Now, to add to their range of Orange only exclusive X10 colors and editions, comes the X10 Mini Fashion Edition.
Orange are the only network within the UK to sell the Fashion Edition Xperia X10 Mini. Like the X10 Mini in lime, the front of the X10 Mini remains black, while the back plate gets a face lift. It comes with two fashionable back plate covers, one in white and the other in pink. You can pick the fashion edition X10 Mini up from Orange stores, or online and it’s free on a two year contract, minimum tariff of £20 a month. The handset is also available on pay as you go for £159.

Once again, for folks in the UK, Orange have a member of the X10 family in an exclusive color. Currently only Orange stock the white model of the X10 in the UK and are continuing this trend with the Xperia X10 Mini. The Lime green model has been made exclusive to Orange and is available to pick up on contract now. Orange recommend the £30 a month contract but, you can actually pick the handset up free on a £15 a month contract. Of course this doesn’t give you as many minutes but, if you’re not a heavy phone user and the minutes and texts are adequate, it means you’re not paying out more each month, just to get the handset for free. The £15 a month contract lasts 24 months and gives you unlimited internet, unlimited texts and 50 minutes on the Dolphin 15 tariff. With Canary and Racoon 15, the handset isn’t free but, rather £49.99. It is however free on their £20 a month contracts.

After many months of waiting, the Xperia X10 is finally with us. In the UK, the handset is showing up in all the major shops, as well as online. Ordering from Orange no longer requires an eight day wait. While Mobiles.co.uk have the handset in stock on all the major networks. They have a section for 3 but, are showing the handset as not available on 3 while Virgin Mobile doesn’t get a mention at all. One of the best deals is with Vodafone, who from Mobiles are offering the handset free on a £30 a month contract with 5 months half price, redeemed by the company themselves. While they do have what look like great deals, it is always best to shop around though, as somewhere else, may be offering an even better deal.

Coming soon to the Orange network is an exclusive version of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 smartphone. There won’t be any exciting hardware changes on the handset, the exclusivity is purely down to the color of the X10 – it will be available in both black and white in the UK from Orange. The white version will only be available to Orange customers with none of the other service providers offering anything other than the black handset.
Which would you choose given the option? The standard and smart looking black X10 or the less ‘common’ and still stylish white version? Here are some pictures to help you decide:

While stumbling through various internet pages, I found one article of interest on IT Pro Portal. They’ve listed the Xperia X1 as being available for free on a 24 month Orange contract. Unlike other vendors however, the handset is free on a sub £40 tariff. The Sony Ericsson X1 is available on a couple Orange 24 month contracts coming in at £35 per month. Previously the lowest I’ve personally seen, is £40 and up tariffs where the handset is free. After researching into the cost it seems that UK consumers who haven’t yet gotten hold of the X1 and want to, may soon be out of luck. While searching through all the major phone stores and websites, including Orange themselves, the handset was only available from BuyMobilePhones.net who are offering the handset for free on £35 tariffs and CarphoneWarehouse. From Carphone Warehouse, the handset isn’t available for free unless taken with a £40 plus tariff, so if you’re looking for the X1, either of these sites are worth checking out.
Many are expecting the Xperia X2 to launch soon and an official announcement to be made next week. However with no official word from Sony Ericsson just yet and the announcement only a rumour, has it been premature for UK phone stores to remove the Xperia X1 from their line up?
