One blogger over at the Sony Ericsson blog has handled the Xperia X10 and tried the camera out on it. The first photos were taken when it was grey outside, but more pictures were also taken once the sun came out. He explains that the handset of course has pre release hardware and software, so the final retail version should hopefully be even better.
It’s also noted, that he hasn’t got that used to the X10 yet, so the settings haven’t been optimized, which really, in my opinion, gives the best review of photo shots. He’s also working on a tripod for the X10, so there may be shake visible. A variety of photos have been taken, as explained above from the grey to when the sun came out, along with landscape and macro shots. A video has also been taken on the X10 to demonstrate the video capabilities. You can view the photos and the video after the jump.

The very lucky girls over at Chip Chick have got their hands on the recently announced Xperia X10 from Sony Ericsson. For those who missed the news, the Xperia X10 is in fact what was dubbed the X3, codename Rachael. The handset is due to be released February 10th, making the girls even luckier.
The handset is the first Android phone from the company and appears to have the best UI compared to other released or announced Android handsets. Enhancements have been made for multimedia by using MediaScape interface instead of Android’s built in media player., which is sure to make use of it’s 4 inch display. Display resolution is an impressive 800 x 480.
Other changes over the Android interface, include the Nexus interface, which includes MediaScape and TimeScape, which can be set as the homescreen integrating various social sections, such as Facebook, contacts, emails, Twitter etc as floating stacks. Other changes and customizations include a Nexus widget and a built in blue theme. Hopefully when the handset is released though, we’ll see more themes to go with it.

The mini teaser site we reported on yesterday has indeed turned out to be the announcement for the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. If you missed the recent news, the X10 was formally known as the X3, or Rachael. The specs are pretty much the same as what were leaked, 4 inch touch screen, 8 megapixel camera and Qualcomm Snapdragon. The X10 will come with Android and will be Sony Ericsson’s flagship phone for the first half of 2010. No specific date was specified apart from Q1, we also don’t know what price range this handset will come in. We can however confirm that it will be coming in black and white. It’s also been made known that, the handset will use a unique UX platform on top of the Android operating system.

The lucky folks over at Mobile Crunch have got hold of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Rachael and taken some “spy pics” to share around. The pictures aren’t the best quality we’ve seen and Into Mobile reports that the snaps were taken with a Motorola RAZR phone. The handset is seen with the standard Android UI instead of the Rachael UI previously seen. While the photos were taken with a lower end camera phone, the lighting in the photos is better than other leaked shots of the handset but, still a bit blurry.

Rumors around the web point to Sony Ericsson making an official announcement about the Sony Ericsson Rachael handset. It’s better known as the X3 but, as we previously reported, the handset could be renamed to the X10. On the Sony Ericsson website, they’ve started a “teaser campaign” for consumers to keep ears and eyes open on November 3rd. While the page doesn’t directly mention the Rachael handset, the main image on the page is named “Rachael – infinity”. The slogan on the image reads “Sometimes there’s a thin line between the extraordinary and the magical. Did we cross it?”. Only tomorrow will tell, we’ll keep you updated on the news.

We first heard of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 as Xperia Rachael, Sony Ericsson’s Android powered smartphone. It’s since become known as the Xperia X3 but, there’s a chance that when Sony Ericsson officially announce the handset, it may be renamed to the Xperia X10. The numbering may not seem logical but, with other Xperia rumours it’s very possible that it could be the X10. We have the upcoming Xperia X2, the Xperia Kiki is supposedly the X5 and the Xperia Pureness. The Pureness was briefly considered the X4 because of the missing handset in the series but, if the X3 does become the X10, it explains why we haven’t got an X4 and perhaps Kiki won’t be the X5 after all. We’ll keep you posted on further updates.

If theunwired weren’t lucky enough to get a pre launch Xperia X2 model, Mobile-Nova appear even luckier. They’ve gotten hold of the Android powered Xperia X3 and took some non blurry photos of the handset. Not just of the handset but of the unboxing as well. They’ve gotten hold of the white model and posted the pictures. Not only that, they’ve got many pictures of the handset from 3DExport, in both the white and black models, all of which you can view after the jump.

While this photos are rather blurry, it does appear to be the Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 in these photos. The photos, while blurry are definitely better than nothing. The shots show off the operating system of the handset. The X3 moves away from Windows Mobile and uses Android instead. The UI is still in the early stages of development at the minute but, it’s a good insight into how the OS will look on the handset.

While it isn’t officially confirmed by Sony Ericsson yet, rumour has it that the Xperia X3, previously known as Rachael could hit stores as soon as January 2010. Sound familiar? Expansys also have the Xperia X2 listed as shipping in January 2010. However it looks like we’ll be seeing the X2 in October in the UK and probably in the US.
It seems strange to launch two flagship handsets almost directly after each other but it could be very interesting. The Xperia X2 will launch with Windows Mobile 6.5 while the X3 will launch with Android, so could Sony Ericsson be giving us the choice of both handsets? Hopefully. We’ll keep you updated on any further information regarding the release date.

Sorry folks but the pre-order page for Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Rachael has been removed from Expansys. With still no official confirmation from Sony Ericsson, it isn’t very surprising, but this has put a damper on hopes of the handset coming soon. We still haven’t heard when the X2 will be released, so hopefully we’ll be seeing that up for pre-order soon, but as a permanent pre-order, until the device is released.
