Yup, you read that right! The Xperia Rachael has not yet been confirmed by Sony Ericsson, but that hasn’t stopped one site listing it for pre-order and telling us more of the specs. The screen was obviously bigger than the X1 and possibly the X2, which it is at 4 inches. Bloggers around the net have been listing Rachael as the X5, even ourselves but it seemsĀ Expansys is sure it’s the Xperia X3. With no announcement from Sony Ericsson, there’s no information on release date or pricing of the handset on the pre-order page, but it’s a sign that the release has to be near.
It appears that the upcoming Xperia Rachael handset from Sony Ericsson, while it’s the third Xperia handset we’ve seen, it isn’t the X3. The Rachael handset has been dubbed the X5. A strange handset, codenamed Kiki is said to be the X3. Kiki has left many wondering where they keypad is, but it also features a transparent screen. Other details are scarce at the moment but it’s rumored to also run Android like the Rachael handset. The X4 is missing in the lineup, so hopefully we’ll hear some news about that soon. It was hoped the handsets would be announced via Sony Ericsson’s Twitter, but instead the C905a and W518A were announced.
After the first picture of the Sony Ericsson Rachael in black, it wasn’t long before we saw the handset in white and in more angles. If white isn’t your color preference, we now have more photos of the Xperia in black, thanks to GSMArena. The handset is shown in the same positions we saw the white model in including from the front, back and sides like the original photo. These new photos provide a clearer and higher quality look.
After the first pictures we saw of the Android powered Xperia handset from Sony Ericsson, it was only a matter of time until more photos were leaked. Like the Xperia X2, the second lot of leaked photos show the Xperia X3/Rachael in a different color and angles.
The handset hasn’t been officially announced by Sony Ericsson yet, so correct specs are still currently unclear but rumor is that the screen is indeed bigger than that of the X1 and the X2 at 4 inches.
Remember the Sony Ericsson Rachael, aka Xperia X3? Well it’s the first Android powered handset from the company and while not confirmed by Sony Ericsson, we do have a video of the Android interface on the Rachael handset. The actual handset isn’t visible in the video unfortunately so take it with a grain of salt, but it does appear to be the actual Xperia Android interface.
Over on Mobil.nu some interesting pictures have been posted of the supposed Android powered Xperia handset. The handset currently codenamed “Rachael” carries the Xperia name on the handset along with an 8 megapixel camera. Also found on “Rachael” is a 3.5mm headphone jack and a mini USB connector. The phone will run Android and is expected to be announced later this year. The screen looks quite big, possibly bigger than the screen of the upcoming X2 but, no specifications have been published on what the screen size will actually be.
