One online UK retailer, Play.com have put the Xperia X10 up for pre-order and with it a release date of January 18th. This contradicts information from the Sony Ericsson Store, but despite it, it gives some hope that the X10 won’t be delayed after all. As we know though, third party companies have issued wrong release dates before, so it’s perhaps not worth getting your hopes up.

The Vodafone page for the Sony Ericsson X2 may have stayed as “due November” for a long time, including December, but the website has now been updated. Unfortunately not to a due December notice, but rather a “due January” message. The SE-Store on the other handset as December. A December released would be great but, I feel it may be next year before we see the handset. No word on whether this will affect the release of the X10, but chances are high that the X10 will also get delayed.

The UK may be getting the Xperia X2 in October along with the US, although no official confirmation on that, we can reveal when the handset is expected to launch in France. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 is due to hit the streets of France in November and will carry a price tag of 600 Euros sim free. The price is cheaper than expected so hopefully we’ll see some really good offers from carriers. Unfortunately we haven’t got any prices for contracts yet but, we’ll keep you posted.
