We recently reported that the latest firmware had been released for the Xperia X1, which was available for download via the Update Service software. We can now confirm the update is also available for Philippine X1 owners. Light Chronicles reports that the update in his country, as well as a step by step guide on how to update. It’s noted that the update is 162MB, so can take a while to download depending on your internet connection.
MrLeeche confirms that the update has made the Xperia bootup faster as well as the fish panel responding faster and the fish being visually bigger. Likewise, file exploring is also faster on the latest firmware.
Since the last firmware update a couple of weeks ago, a newer and better Xperia firmware has been released. The newest firmware boosts the reception signal, which could be useful for those with Korean X1s. The touchscreen responsiveness is also improved in this firmware, making the Xperia easier to use. The keyboard back light power has also been increased, with the media panel also being given a boost in performance.

Another ROM update has been released for Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1. Unfortunately it doesn’t bring with it any goodies from the leaked R3A ROM. What has been noticed with the new ROM is that the boot time of the X1 is better but there doesn’t seem to be much else. Over at Xperiancer, the leaked custom ROM which includes Xtrakt is favoured over the official ROM from Sony Ericsson. To update your Xperia, download the ROM from here.
Once again, over at XDA-Developers, they’ve come up with something great for the Xperia X1. This time it’s a custom ROM by itje which includes many applications and fun stuff. In order to use the custom ROM you have to flash the ROM firmware on your Xperia, but fortunately, itje has released the CAB files to a few of the apps that don’t require any flashing of your X1. One of the apps is a 3D game called Xtrakt which works perfectly well on the X1 and is highly praised in comments.
In the game you control the main character on a futuristic motorbike and destroy monsters. The game is said to be very fun and better than a lot of other games on Windows Mobile. The character is controlled with the stylus. You can download the CAB here and view the game in action below.
