Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 to use Google for location services

In an interview with Giga-OM, Skyhook founder Ted Morgan has revealed that the company had tried to work with Sony Ericsson on the Xperia X1 successor. Instead of using Skyhook as part of the location based services on the Xperia X2, Sony Ericsson have instead decided to use the geolocation data from Google.
In the interview, Morgan also reveals that the X2 will also run on Windows Mobile, like the Xperia X1. While this isn’t an official word from Sony Ericsson on what platform the X2 will run, the information seems to be pretty much concrete.
The Xperia X2 is headed for a late 2009 release, with Asus and Foxconn being the manufacturers instead of HTC.
