SlingPlayer Mobile for Windows Mobile has been updated to version 2.0. SlingPlayer Mobile already supports the Xperia X1 and now the HTC Pure, Touch Pro II and some others. The app has been redesigned, giving a better experience for touchscreen and widescreen formats.

New features included in the update, include unrestricted streaming, a better interface, which is icon based, which essentially eliminates the need to use a stylus, as well as Sling Account support, which means you no longer need to enter your Slingbox Finder ID and password. SlingPlayer Mobile is available to purchase for $29.99, or you can try it for free for 30 days.

Another popular application has been updated to support Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1. This time round it’s the SlingPlayer Mobile. The update by Sling Media provides support for 800×480, 640×480 and 320×320 screen resolutions which adds the Xpera X1, among other phones, to their list of compatible handsets.

SlingPlayer Mobile allows users to watch their TV, including services such as pay per view, video on demand and local weather and sports channels from their handset. You can download and give SlingPlayer a try for 30 days for free, after that it retails for $29.99.
