UK carrier T-Mobile already offer the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 on their network with their £35 a month, 24 month contract and now they are to offer the baby Xperia X10 – the Xperia X10 Mini to it’s customers from July of this year. The T-Mobile website has been updated in the ‘phones coming soon’ section to include the X10 Mini. Interested customers can enter their details on the “register your interest” form and T-Mobile will keep them informed on the availability of the handset. They do state that the Xperia X10 Mini, with it’s 2.6 inch QVGA touchscreen display, 5MP auto focus camera and the Android 1.6 operating system, is coming to their network in July although as yet they haven’t provided any contract or pricing details for this newest Sony Ericsson smartphone addition to their range. The register your interest page for the X10 Mini can be found here at T-Mobile. via 3 Comments »  While Orange may have picked up an exclusive deal to sell the white Xperia X10, the company list the handset as coming soon. T-Mobile on the other hand, have the handset available to pick up on contract. It’s also not as expensive as expected. The X10 can be picked up for free on a £35 a month contract. The contract lasts for 2 years and includes 900 minutes, 500 texts, unlimited internet and a free “Flexible booster”, which is normally £5. With the booster, you can get unlimited texts, land line calls or T-Mobile calls. Alternatively, you can get an Europe call booster, including 60 minutes, or a USA and Canada booster, which gives you 120 minutes worth of calls. The booster package can also be changed each month.
While T-Mobile have the handset available to order, it can take up to 10 days for delivery. via No Comments »  While the recent report from the FCC on the X10 hinted at being available on T-Mobile, new information has shown that it is pretty much guaranteed to hit T-Mobile. On page 3 of the PDF, it has shown that it will use 3G bands 1, 4 and 8. All of which belong to T-Mobile’s AWS 3G bands. So if you’re a T-Mobile customer, good news that you won’t have to change carrier if you’re after the X10.
via and via No Comments »  The Xperia X10 has been sent to the FCC for bench tests, reports and approval. Over on the FCC site, there are in the wild photos which have appeared, along with the user manual, bringing it a step closer to release. The reports show that the handset will run on Edge 850 / 1900, which is what T-Mobile’s band is.

Many believed the Xperia X10 may be released on AT&T when the handset is launched, but with new information, it appears that the handset may also be released on T-Mobile. A spec sheet dated November 2009 lists two variants of the handset with different network support. The first handset supports UMTS HSPA 900, 1700, 2100 and GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900. While the second variant offers support for UMTS HSPA 800, 850, 1900, 2100 and GSM GPRS/EDGE 850, 900, 1800, 1900. It’s not confirmed yet, but it looks very promising and good news for current T-Mobile subscribers. We’ll keep you posted when this becomes confirmed. via 1 Comment » 
Despite the release date being a few days away on the 22nd of October, some customers have already received their G1, the new smartphone from T-Mobile and competitor to the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 smartphone. 
Some pre-existing T-Mobile customers that were lucky enough to pre order a G1, manufactured by HTC, have had their new phones shipped out to them in advance of the official release date, leaving customers that weren’t already T-Mobile users a little ‘miffed’, according to Engadget. Expect a plethora of pictures and videos of the G1 to arrive on the internet at any time. No Comments » |
