While some networks are having trouble stocking the Xperia Play, it hasn’t stopped Virgin Mobile announcing that they will begin offering the Xperia Play on contract this month. Like most networks, they will offer the handset on a variety of tariffs and with the option of an 18 month contract, or a 24 month contract.

For £40.85 a month in a two year contract, you can pick the handset up for free. This tariff will give you 1200 minutes, 1GB of mobile internet and unlimited texts.

Virgin Mobile have gained the exclusive rights to releasing the Xperia X8 in black and red within the UK. Despite the features of the handset not being top notch, it’s still a relatively good smart phone and is for the budget shopper. The X8 from Virgin Mobile is available for free on their £10 a month tariff, well £10.21 a month after UK VAT. For £10.21 a month, you get 50 minutes of calls, 250 texts and 500MB of web data. The contract length is 24 months, which if you don’t top your phone up frequently, may work out more expensive than buying the handset outright, however for those who do top up £10 or more a month, this is quite a good deal. A 2GB memory card is included in the box.

With the major networks in the UK offering the X10, Virgin Mobile now have the handset in stock on contract and pay as you go. With Virgin Mobile, users have a choice of the standard 24 month contract, or can opt in for a shorter 18 month contract. Going for the 24 month contract, will set you back £35 a month, where as on the 18 month contract, to get the handset for free, the minimum tarif is £40 a month. You can also get the phone on a lower priced tariff but, the handset won’t be free. A £20 a month 24 month contract makes the handset £254.99. Or if you want the handset contract free, on pay as you go, the Xperia X10 is available for £459.99.

With all the major networks in the UK offering the Xperia X10, Virgin Media want to get in the game as well. Virgin Media, who use the T-Mobile network will be offering the handset as part of it’s range and is due to hit the UK sometime in April. Tariff info is currently unconfirmed but, it’s likely to be the same deal, a 24 month contract running you £35 a month. Virgin Mobile are also taking on two other Android handsets, the HTC Desire and the Samsung Galaxy Portal, so it’s possible that the company could also offer the X10 Mini up.
