Mobilkom Austria will begin selling the Xperia X1 from the 6th of November. It will come with a 24 month contract costing 10 Euros a month. Interestingly this doesn’t increase the price of the handset compared to Germany O2‘s offering and will cost 249 Euros.

The A1 Complete Package includes usually individual packages including internet and TV.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is now available in Germany on the O2 network. The X1 will be available on a contract or as a pre-pay phone. A pre-pay Xperia X1 is available for 619,99 Euros or on contract for 349,99 Euros. The contract is for 24 months costing 30 Euros per month.

The X1 will be available from T-Mobile and Vodafone D2 later on this year, hopefully with a more consumer friendly contract.

While many of us haven’t even got our hands on the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 yet, CyK1 has received his and has already taken it apart and videoed it.

With the X1 not easily available yet, I’m surprised he took the risk of damaging it and losing his warranty while opening but, open it up he has and if you’re interested in taking your Xperia apart, or just want to see the inside of the X1, you can view the disassembling of the back and front of the X1 after the jump. WMPowerUser explains one of the reasons why he thought that the Xperia X1 was unpolished and how to fix it.

Many of the panels default back to Pocket IE, with Opera Mobile 9.5 being added at the last minute. The shipping hardware hasn’t fixed this problem, but it is possible to fix it yourself easily.

If you know how to edit xml files you can edit the xml file in \Program\Panels\GooglePanel. All that needs changing is to replace iexplorer.exe with operaL.exe each time it’s mentioned in the file. If you’d rather not edit the file yourself, P@itor, a member of xda-developers has provided the edited xml file. You can download it here and replace the xml file found in the GooglePanel directory.

If the pdf user manual wasn’t enough for you, Sony Ericsson have an Xperia X1 simulator page. While you can’t actually demo the phone through the simulator, it is possible to select actions.

Each action selected will guide you through the steps on how you would complete the task on the phone itself, with bundles of information about the X1 and a ‘simulation’ of the phone being used.

You can also grab some downloadable content from the Sony Ericsson website for the X1. Content ranges from themes, images and panels.

If you’ve previously viewed the Xperia X1 features page on the Sony Ericsson website, then you’ll know it was flash based and had multi-colored paper air planes flying around the screen. Sony Ericsson have now updated and improved their page for the X1.

The new X1 feature page allows you to choose one of three Xperia owners who show you various features of the phone. You can choose between Kate from London who’s a consultant, Rahul the developer from India, or Annabel who’s a Journalist in Spain.

SEMC Blog have posted up some photographs of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, showing three different versions of the X1.

As you can see, the first two models do not show the Xperia text above the d-pad as shown on the third. Nor do they contain as many icons on the buttons. The second one with no icons at all.

There are only two different versions of the backplate of the X1. The second one looking much smoother and sleeker in my opinion.

I’ve seen both of the different backplates in various photos of the X1 but, previously I had only seen the third version of the frontplate, I much prefer that version too.

Unfortunately there is no information as of yet detailing why they are different. Or if one is for the X1a and the other being for the X1i but we’ll keep you informed of any further information.
