Sorry to disappoint you folks but, it seems that the rooted Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 we’d seen was actually a fake. It claimed that SETool was used to gain access to the root, which most consumers don’t have access to. Some guys on the SETool forums however do and have only gotten error messages when they tried the procedure. Following posts in the topic go on to say it’s near impossible to do, thanks to the security rules put in place at root level on the Xperia X10.
