The BBC iPlayer comes to the Xperia X1

The iPlayer portal from the BBC, currently available on the iPhone and N96, will be heading to Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1 over the next few days along with support for the Samsung Omnia. Support for Nokia’s N85 and Sony Ericsson’s C905 will follow shortly after that.

BBC’s iPlayer portal, allows users to catch up on their missed TV shows. The new portal will bring new features and navigation. The main tabs of the portal will be TV, Catchup and Radio. The Xperia, and other phones, have been selected as they meet the Wi-Fi and 3G requirements as well as having a “great media playback experience”.

    Hi Steve,

    The way i did it was to open bbc.co.uk then change from mobile content to full content (done via preferences tab at bottom of the screen, waited until page opened up then clicked on iplayer and hey presto… or so i thought…

    Although I have trouble (can anyone help)….

    I have a 3g data card linked into a billion 3g wireless router. When i try and watch something on ipayer cathup it says please connect to wifi (but i already am??)

    Maybe it isn’t fully up and running yet but if anyone can help it would be fantastic
