Windows Mobile 6.5 update not coming to Xperia X1
Posted in: Sony Ericsson, Xperia Software, Xperia X1, tags: Sony Ericsson, windows mobile 6.5, windows mobile update, Xperia X1, xperia x2
Many X1 owners have been hoping and asking if the updated version of Windows Mobile will be coming to the Xperia X1. It’s now been confirmed that it won’t be. A Sony Ericsson rep has told Crave Asia that Windows Mobile 6.5 will not be coming to the Xperia X1.
Other handsets have already received the update but, if your an Xperia user, you’re out of luck. Unless of course, you upgrade to the Xperia X2, which comes with Windows Mobile 6.5 pre-installed. From a business perspective, it does make sense but, if you’re not ready to upgrade, or have recently got the X1 and aren’t out of contract, then I’m afraid you’re out of luck, officially anyway. The 6.5 ROM has been floating around, which you can grab from XDA-Developers.

[...] några tvivel så är de borta nu, när SE på känt kund-ovänligt manér slutgiltigt meddelat att Windows Mobile 6.5 inte kommer till X1:an! Det är kundomtanke i ett nötskal – INTE! Uruselt. Inte för att vederbörande [...]
Damn it! The first stupid comment is only a commercial and the second is not in english. What the hell is going on??? Is it so hard to answer in the same language the original blog entry was written?
SE can lick my balls for missing the fucking update! My first SE mobile and my last, like my AsUs before. Burn in hell!
wtf, i have owned nothing but ericsson or SE phones in my lifetime. i saved up all freaking year and bought me x1i in FEB O9, opened cause i live in the US where the phone is not carried by any network. now lo and behold i am left in the cold. no WM 6.5 and def no WM 7, and thats after paying $750.00. man, i am sooo #^$#^%& depressed

Are we really surprised that SE will not put out an update. Why would they when they can just sell you a new phone. The almighty dollar speaks more to them than customer loyalty. This was my second SE phone. The first being the P900 when it first came out and if i recall they pulled similar crap then. All i can say is if they don’t start caring about their customers this will be my last SE phone.
I think it’s really sad that SE have chosen such a customer unfreindly path, what are the reason behind their decision – money I assume, but I don’t know. Why would anyone buy the X2 for an 6.5 upgrade, seriously, SE will offer X2 byers the same poor sevice when next windows OS comes – and yes I know that windows mobile 7 probably wouldn’t fit on a X2, but it’s the priciple in SE’s decision. And thinking of the way xpereia models are sold as high end mobiles makes me wonder even more – come on SE be a man and give us that windows 6.5 upgrade, and think about it – you might have some happy returning customers instead of a lot of leaving customers – it’s that simple!.
Great article thx a lot!
I’m really pissed off at SE. I have owned many SE smart phones starting with the P800, P900, P990 and now shifted right away to the X1 as the first SE phone using a Windows OS. I’m really disappointed at their POOR customer service. First my mobile was Arabic enabled and as I ran the update service from their official site I found out that the Arabic language is now longer supported. Even after contacting them officially thru their website, they didn’t even bother to reply saying whether they would be able to solve such a simple matter or at least direct me to the closest local dealer.
Anyways, if they didn’t release the new WM7 or at least 6.5 it is gonna be my last SE phone and i will make sure nobody i know buy it.. as a matter of fact guys.. start checking out the HTC phones, Great Customer service, support and amazing software releases (BTW i believe SE WM software was powered by HTC as a confirmation froma real close friend working in HTC and u can actually prove that if u read the about section in your X1 phone)
Good Site dude.. Keep up the good work… ;)
i got the x1 6.5 upgrade it was developed by Christian work extremely well better than android i think
man you are so cool……….!!!
Incredibly well said. Technologies are without a doubt invented like mad. There is often a race among all firms. to invent something which has not been in marketplace by other corporations. Take example of mobile phones, I am extremely affectionate towards of new mobile devices, mobile wallpapers and ringtones. I’m usually seeking for new or exciting attributes in mobile phones. But, I find some new or extra ordinary features in all of them.
Hey this is just great, had a good read on this!
Microsoft is not any stranger to having partners galore in the telephone enterprise, however its lineup of producers for the upcoming, surprisingly promising Windows Phone 7 launch is not any much less impressive. After plenty of rumoring, Microsoft has confirmed that Dell and HTC shall be making Windows Phone 7 telephones, along with ASUS, LG, and Samsung who had already been confirmed. All of these corporations should have their stamp on hardware by the end of the year, with the launch of the OS still vaguely slated for the “holidays” We have now little doubt that each one five producers can build some compelling, attractive hardware, however we’re particularly enthused to see Dell really moving into the sport after the impressive Streak and that drool worthy leak a short time back. read more at http://www.wp7forum.com followers group.

I have been trying to find someone to compose a write-up similar to this. I’ve finally found it after searching Search engines. Cheers!

I love the blog layout . How did you make it. It’s really nice!
I don’t accept as true with this particular article. Nevertheless, I had researched with Yahoo and I’ve found out that you are right and I seemed to be thinking in the incorrect way. Carry on publishing good quality content such as this.
This is great stuff, its good to be in the know.
Microsoft is kind of crazy. They have to many updates.
They should create something really good that would need much updates.
I don’t see Google and Apple with that many updates.
Can there be any methods to be connected to the web site without having opt-in into the RSS? I can’t understand the reason however I can’t have the RSS packed upon my viewer although I can get this through my chrome.
Great post! I?m just starting out in community management/marketing media and trying to learn how to do it well – resources like this article are incredibly helpful. As our company is based in the US, it?s all a bit new to us. The example above is something that I worry about as well, how to show your own genuine enthusiasm and share the fact that your product is useful in that case
Excellent, Appreciate it!
