More Sony Ericsson news coming in prior to their pre-CES press conference tells us that Sony Ericsson have filed for the trademark on the term ‘Xperia ION’. The company  apparently made the filing on December 13th last year, with the US Patent and Trademark office and we are now assuming that Sony Ericsson will be announcing that they will be using the name ‘Xperia ION’ to brand one of their rumoured upcoming handsets.

Hopefully more details will emerge at the press conference as to which of the rumoured handsets the ‘Xperia ION’ title could receive. Top contender for taking the ION name is the rumoured LT28at although, we will have to wait for formal confirmation from Sony Ericsson.
