Matt over at Tracy and Matt’s blog got his hand on a C&J unit of the Xperia X1. C&J which stands for Customer & Journalist are pre-release versions which is almost the same as the final product to be released in the market.

You may read Matt’s comprehensive initial impression of the Xperia X1 or you may read on for some of the highlights of his review:

  • in-call quality of the Xperia X1 is powerful enough even when not set to maximum
  • actual 328MB RAM
  • the Xperia X1 is packed with the MSM7200 processor
  • good audio quality when listening to music

Matt also mentioned about the Google Panel which provides direct link to Google Maps, Mail and Calendar which opens up an internet connection when selected. Google Maps has a pretty good interface in the iPhone and Gmail can be accessed as a separate application. What the iPhone lacks is an interface with Google Calendar. It would interesting how these Google features would pull consumers to buy the Xperia X1.

Actually, I’m quiet excited already to find out how good the Xperia X1 is.
