Claro, a Brazilian network provider has started selling the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 on contract. There are various contract packages to purchase the X1 on, all lasting 12 months. The lowest you can pick the X1 up for is BRL 199 on a 2000 minute price plan which has a considerably costly monthly charge. Other packages with less minutes increase the cost of the handset, but it does seem Claro offer consumers the ability to pay for the phone upfront or over 6 months with no interest.
