I never really noticed these two features of the Xperia X1 which are not the standard specs for most newer Sony Ericsson mobile phones. I’m talking about the microSD card slot instead of the M2 card slot that holds the Sony Memory Stick Micro card. This may sound rather absurd and will make you question why SE is using the microSD for the Xperia instead of its own Memory Stick product.
Well, the according to Crave lies on the fact that the Xperia X1 is not really a SE manufactured handset but rather a mobile unit designed by HTC. With microSD as its external storage of choice, the Xperia X1 is now the first SE phone which doesn’t use the M2 and use the microSD card instead. One advantage of using a microSD card that I can immediately is of course the price, microSD card comes cheaper than Sony’s Memory Stich Pro Duo and Micro. In addition, those who have old non-SE phones can still use the memory storage.
